Repository upgrade failed: Access denied

Post by MyKey0815 »

Today i update to VSO365 v3. That works fine.

Then a go to upgrade the repository on a local folder (C:\VeeamRepository). But that dont work. It come a message "Der Zugriff wurde verweigert" (Access denied). I have reboot the Windows 2012R2 Server - i log on as lokal Admin - i change the User of the service and restart - but nothing works.

What can I do?

Michael,

This seems very strange. Especially since it is on the local VBO server. Please create a support call and log the support case ID here. Afterwards, let us know the outcome of the investigation of the engineers

Thanks
Mike

Please let us know the outcome. The upgrade process of the repo is a bit of a "mysterie". What happens to a failed upgrade of a repo? Could you potentially lose data?

Peter,

First, no worries - there will be no data loss even if the repository upgrade fails. The main reason for the upgrade is to sync the underlying database scheme between product versions.

[SOLVED] Repository upgrade failed: Access denied

Post by MyKey0815 »

The solution is: Change the credentials of the Backup Proxy not to use Systemaccount. We have change to lokal admin and now it works

Michael,
Thanks for letting me know. I am, to be fair, a bit confused. I am glad it is working for you, but I will dive into the case to learn what exactly happened because, if I am not wrong, the proxy gets installed by running the systemaccount for the service.

We have the exact same error, with upgrading from 4 to 5. Only on some reps.

Support has helped, they send me a private fix and that fixed the problem. I can upgrade my remaining reps. Thanks!
