[FR] Job schedule 'After Job XXX'

Post by Helferlein » 1 person likes this post

Hi Veeamers.

It would be great to have a job schedule like in VBR:

--> Run this job AFTER an job that can be specified.

Reason for this is, that when specifing one job every 2 hours and you set another job every 4 hours.... so every 4 hours there are two jobs are running at the same time which is decreasing the speed.
It's getting worse if you specifiy another job every 8 hours... so every 8 hours you have even three jobs running at the same time and the speed is getting like zero.

To avoid this I request the feature of a new schedule type AFTER JOB XXX.

Thanks.

Peter, thanks for the request. Do keep in mind we have logic in place to spread the load across multiple jobs. Run after could also be a bad idea (what if the previous one never finishes or fails with an error?) but we'll look into it on how we can optimize it.

[MERGED] Scheduling

Is it possible to get the schedule option of "run this after job after jobxxxx"....?
is it also possible to somehow make this Azure VM (veeam 365 marketplace) to automatically start 15 min. before the first job schedule and automatically shutdown after last backup job has run? :)

Hi Frank,

I moved your topic to the existing thread, as the topic here is quite similar.

So, answering your first question: currently is not possible. And there're some concerns about implementing this option (see Niels's response above), but still, I'll take it as a feature request.

Q2: VBO itself doesn't provide such an option :) I guess it can be done with scripting...
