Hi Guys,
Just wondering if my experiance is normal.
I'm just testing a trial version of Veeam for M365.
Backed up a 1TB sharepoint library (about 800,000 items).
Backup time was resonable - about 80 hours.
However doing a test restore to the to local file system is incredible slow.
Im restoring about 100,000 items(200 GB) to local file storage & its running more than 2 days now...
I understand why the backup from M365 takes a long time, but why is the restore job to local storage so slow?

Re: Restore times for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365
Hi Jim and welcome to the Forums!
Am I correct that you're performing a save/export operation to a local drive? or is it a restore to an on-prem SharePoint farm?
Are you restoring from an object storage repository?

Hi Polina,
Yes I, using the "save document" function on the Veeam explorer for Microsoft Sharepoint tool. Saving to local file system, don;t have an onprem sharepoint server.
Saving the documents to local storage (Disk E). The storage repository is on the same server, but different local disk(disk F)

Hi Jim,
Save/export rates may increase if, for example, there's a significant inclusion of folders in the restored object. However, to me, your rates seem below the expected behavior. I'd suggest you open a support case to troubleshoot the problem.
Thanks!
