Retention Policy and Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, etc.
I have a question regarding the retention policy for O365 Veeam backups: If the retention policy is set to 3 years, does that mean contacts, calendar, and task list items created or modified 4 years ago will NOT be backed up? OR does this only apply to mail messages and all of a users mailbox contacts, calendars, and task list items be backed up no matter the date?

I believe this is correct, the retention policy applies to all objects. To be sure I will verify this with our development departments. I will update this thread when I know more
thanks

Re: Retention Policy and Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, etc.
This seems problematic. If I have a contact that I added in O365 many years ago and did not update. If I set a retention policy that does not capture that contact, I will loose that contact information. Are there any thoughts or recommendations to protecting items that do not get modified but that I do not want to loose without setting up multiple jobs? If not, can I have submit a feature request for custom retention for EDB items?

Re: Retention Policy and Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, etc.
There are two thoughts we are working / thinking at at this moment.
1: Giving a different retention possibility
2: Allowing certain "folders" (such as contacts) to have a different retention
