Hi.
I'm setting up Veeam for Office 365 backup for a customer.
And they want to know which rights the account must have.
Just now it is Global Admin.
Is that a requirement - or could it have not that much rights.
I've looked at some links in other forumthreats but I don't get much wiser.
Regards
Tore ML

Re: Rights for Veeam backup account
So if I read the guide correct - the user should have the following rights for backup / restore of Office 365 - Mail \ SharePoint \ OneDrive:
Exchange:
ApplicationImpersonation - Required to back up Exchange data. (also restore?)
SharePoint:
SharePoint Administrator
Correct?
Tore

Re: Rights for Veeam backup account
Hi Tore,
For backup, the account needs to have Exchange and SharePoint admin roles, plus an ApplicationImpersonation role.
Permissions required for Exchange restore are listed here, and for SharePoint restore you can find them here.
