Secure Connection between VBO and Office 365
Actually we are deploying Veeam for office 365 v6 and the security of the Information Security team is asking us to secure the communication between the Veeam server we deploy in Azure and Office 365 endpoints such as Sharepoint Online or Exchange Online. I would like to know what is the assurance mechanism between Veeam for office 365 and office 365 without having to enable outbound traffic through a firewall since the solution is fully deployed in Azure and the cost of a dedicated firewall is not feasible.

Re: Secure Connection between VBO and Office 365
Hi Erbinb
Our product connects to Microsoft 365 over a SSL connection. So the connection between M365 and your VB365 Proxy is encrypted. You can see the endpoints and the statement about the SSL connection in our helpcenter:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
Thanks
Fabian

Re: Secure Connection between VBO and Office 365
The autosigned certificate (or self-signed certificate) inside the solution is only for the VB365 own communications. For connecting to Microsoft 365 we utilize the same mechanism as (for example) your Outlook client does. (I believe here is the best information: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/micros ... -worldwide)
