Selecting objects to backup, a query

Post by talltim »

When creating a backup job in VM365, If you choose the Back up the following objects option, it allow you choose Users, Group, Sites, etc. It then lists all of whatever you have chosen and you can select individual objects, or all of that type.
My query is, if you select all, will the job then back up new objects of whatever category you chose when they get created?

Hi Tim,

To protect all existing + newly created objects, you need a different job configuration, see here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=70
Select the entire organization object and then you can edit the protection option to protect only all sites, all mailboxes, etc.

Thanks!

Right, That sort of makes sense. Am I missing it, or does this not give you option of backing up just Users or Groups?
It gives you Mail, Archive, OneDrive, Sites and Teams

That's correct. If you select to protect mailboxes, it'll include both users' and groups' mailboxes, and so on.
