Sending notification mails
Hi!
Try to send mail when something is not good from Veeam backup for Microsoft Office 365.
When everything is setup and I try to send a test mail it says,
The server respons was: 5.7.3 STARTTLS is required to send mail
I have added thes regkeys on machines where TLS 1.0/1.1 has been disabled to force the usage of TLS 1.2.
Locations: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319 and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319
Name: SchUseStrongCrypto
Type: DWORD
Value: 1
Name: SystemDefaultTlsVersions
Type: DWORD
Value: 1
The SMTP setup is
SMTP server: smstp.office365.com
Port 587
and my login to a mailbox in O365
Anyone that have any solution on this?

Re: Sending notification mails
Hi reine.sandgren,
Not related to the specific error you see, but here you can find some ideas on how to set things up: veeam-backup-for-office-365-f47/smtp-no ... 65279.html
And also, if you don't use SSL, try port 25 instead of 587.
Thanks!

Re: Sending notification mails
Maybe a strange thing... But I noticed that you have a typo in the SMTP server, you are stating smstp instead of SMTP... Maybe that is the problem?

Re: Sending notification mails
It is "smtp.office365.com" I checked now
The relay was setup in Excangen Online, and TLS was enabled but still the same.
I have tried with both 25 and 587. Nothing stops in the firewall as I can see when I test the connection from port 25.
Any more tips?
