SharePoint domain rename
We have been accepted into the MS preview to rename our SharePoint Online domain name. (ie change from https://contoso.sharepoint.com to https://fabrikam.sharepoint.com)
https://aka.ms/SPOTenantRename
Has anyone here done this before, and was there any issues with Veeam Backup for Office 365 afterwards backing up OD/SPO/Teams/EXO?
Does Veeam support this?
Case #04913363.

Re: SharePoint domain rename
Is there anywhere we can go to make a request to get Veeam to support this up and coming feature from MS?

@holzhei
Here is the perfect place to request it
This is scheduled to be supported in our upcoming release if there are no unexpected issues.

@Mike Resseler
Sorry to hijack an old thread, but I'm looking forward this feature as well. Is there any news on this?

Re: SharePoint domain rename
Yep we need this fix too. A sharepoint site was renamed by one of our tenants.

Re: SharePoint domain rename
We've got a renamed tenant domain and our backups were working for us on version 5.0.1.179. Once we upgraded to 5.0.2.22 the backups started failing with 404 Not Found on all OneDrive and Sharepoint site backups. Teams backups work fine. I don't understand why it stopped working, but Support would not investigate since apparently this is still an "unsupported configuration."
Looking forward to this working again!

The answer from Mike still stands. We haven't had any new releases since then yet, it's been less than half a year

Re: SharePoint domain rename
Thanks for the quick response! Do you have an estimated timeline for the next major release? I can see a couple of new builds released since the thread started, but I'm assuming this would require more than a dot release to resolve.
Additionally, is it possible to confirm that this issue can be resolved in the interim by re-creating the connection to O365 (essentially re-implementing Veeam in the O365 tenant)? Very much appreciated.

Re: SharePoint domain rename
We just had the beta of V6 shipped last week, meaning it should go GA sometimes in H1 2022.

Unfortunately, there're no workarounds; kindly please wait for v6.

Re: SharePoint domain rename
As from today the 6.0 version is released. This means that sharepoint rename is supported now?
