Sharepoint recovery not always possible

We just learned through a customer project, that SharePoint data currently can only reliably recovered for default templates (lists, libraries).
It seems the underlying templates do not get parsed fully or correctly a the list happens to be user defined.

Backup works as expected, but during recovery in Veeam Explorer for SharePoint those columns do not show any or not all content and have a wrong or missing caption.
We filed a support case #5059999 for the issue and were given the information that there is currently no solution.

Does VBO currently really only support default lists within SharePoint online?
