Shorter Retention Periods
My company has a policy against keeping email past a few months. Why is the shortest time frame 1 year? Seems a bit long and is going to require quite a bit of space to store those backups.

Re: Shorter Retention Periods
Hi Leo,
The request to keep the emails less than 1 year has been received a few times and we are looking at getting this into our next version (no promises though )
For the space: The retention is based on the exchange online "item" (so emails, calendar items, contacts...). So if the retention range is 1 year, but the email (that still exists in Outlook & Exchange online) has been received more than a year ago, it won't be in the backup since it has crossed the retention.
