Unable to add VBO proxy on existing VBR proxy server

My existing environment has a VBR all in one (proxy + VBR server + repo) installed on 1 server. Now I've installed a VBO on a separate server and would like to add this VBR as one of the VBO backup proxy. As I know this is possible for using a same server for different proxy since I have installed a VBO proxy on VBR backup proxy server successfully in another environment, however when I tried to add it in this different environment setup I got the below error message:

Check existing proxy components. Error: Specified server is already used as default proxy by another backup server.

This could be due to different versions of the underlying components or maybe the VBR server was used in the past and there are leftovers. In order to fully understand the issue, you will have to work with support to take a closer look at installation logs and the setup. Can you please open a support case (and let us know the case ID for future reference)?
