Unable to select Wasabi for backup jobs
I have upgraded to V7 and setup the object storage to our Wasabi instance. It passes all of the tests and you can see it within object storage. However, when you create a new backup job I am only able to pick the local repository. I have opend a case with Veeam #05904433 but was looking to see if anyone else has this issue?? Thanks

Re: Unable to select Wasabi for backup jobs
Hi Tony
Welcome to the forum.
After you connected to the wasabi bucket, have you created a backup repository?
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=70
It‘s a two step process:
1. Connect to the bucket
2. Create a repository with a local cache folder and your object storage bucket for the backup data
Best,
Fabian

Re: Unable to select Wasabi for backup jobs
Yes. I followed the directions in the article to the letter this morning.
I have the object storage under the backup repo of Wasabi with a path to a W drive and under object storage is Wasabi that has a valid path. I know it is working as I can browse the admin portal in wasabi and see all of the folders etc.

Thanks for confirming.
Have you enabled immutability for this Wasabi bucket? If so, this object storage repository can only be used for backup copy jobs. It won‘t show up in backup jobs (they don‘t support immutability).
Best,
Fabian

One of these days . Sounds familiar . Let us know if Mildur's suggestion works, but I do believe that will be the case.

Re: Unable to select Wasabi for backup jobs
Good morning Mike
The immutability of the bucket was the cause of it. Once I created a new bucket without it, I will able to setup a test job. However I am still puzzled by one thing. The local "persistent cache" is only put on a 100gb disk. Will this be large enough and what happens when I start to backup the organization? Will this fill up and crash the backups??

Hi Tony
I'm glad it works now.
You can calculate the size requirement local cache with the table in our Best Practice Guide:

Re: Unable to select Wasabi for backup jobs
I just did the calc and I will need about 330gb. I am currently at 100gb. It looks like I will need to move that disk to a larger datastore and expand it when I can.

Hi
Will the immutability for Veeam backup jobs pointing to object storage (not with copy jobs only) be a feature in the next release?
Unless we are the only ones who would like to have immutability enabled for the Veeam Microsoft 365 backup job pointing to object storage.

Hi Yoni,
You are not the only ones requesting such a feature
It's on our roadmap, but with no ETA yet.
Can you share the details of your usage scenario/requirements for immutability on backups?
Thanks!
