User cannot be added to backup

Post by mschwarzer »

Hi everyone,

in our environment we have cases called longterm breakers. Users which left the company and returned after couple of month. Therfore the E3 lics are revoked and reapplied after return and vbo data from the former account are recoverred to the new account.
Our integration reads the new E3 license and adds the user to the corresponding job. But the job fails with the message

Code: Select all

:: Processing mailbox $user completed with warning: User was not found: $user (ID: $userID).
Steps done to resolve this:
all userdata were removed from repo
userlicense was revoked from vbo
user was reattached to the job using reast api integration and UI
but all with the same result. Looks like somewere is still an artifact connecting $user with $userid. Can anyone help, or point me in the right direction? Help is gladly appreciated.

our Case #07588687 — User cannot be added to backup

Did this ever get resolved? We have a similar issue with a user that used to work at the company, left, their 365 accont was deleted but their emails were still in the database because of retention, we recreated them when the came back, can add them via the VBO UI and the job gives a warning with user not found.

Hi All

According to the latest case notes, the situation was resolved by creating a new temporary backup job and running it with the "full option (-Full)".

The job was created using PowerShell.
However, I strongly suggest opening your own case and letting our support team confirm the issue and providing you with the PowerShell cmdlets. Please share the case number with me as well.

Thank you,
Fabian
