VBR backup of VBO
I'm attempting to take a VBR file-level backup of the VBO repository, but I do not get the application-level restore options. I don't want to back up the whole server that it's on. Do I need to backup other pieces of the server to get the VBO restore functionality?

Re: VBR backup of VBO
If you are talking about "application-aware processing" in your backup job, you will need to do a full backup of the server. If you only back up the repository, you should be able to mount the backup and start the Veeam Explorer manually. Afterward, load in the specific database and restore the files.
What is the reason for not backing up the whole server? Since you are protecting the repository, the little bit extra of the server shouldn't hurt too much in terms of size? And it will also allow you to recover quickly if the VBO server breaks down?
