Veeam B&R and Veeam Backup For O365

Post by adam900331 »

Hello!

I have a single server and installed it a Veeam B&R. I would like to implement our infrastructure the Veeam Backup For O365. Can I install it to the same server both? Or can I install the Veeam Backup For O365 to a separate? What is the best practise?

Thanks.

You can, but it‘s better to use a standalone server for the vbo software.

If you install both software on the same server, you must always update both products at the same time. They are using the same components, and must be compatible to each other.

Second, if you want to have the 3-2-1 rule with local disk backup repos, it‘s better to have a dedicated vm or physical machine for the vbo server. Then you can create a backup of this server for the 3-2-1 rule

Thanks for the information. I was about to post the same question, only regarding the Community Editions in my home lab.

Hi Scott

Your welcome.

In a homelab, I would possibly be using the same server.
In a production environment, I will always use dedicated server.
