First, make sure you selected "Modern authentication" method. Next, check that your service account username and app password are provided correctly.

Yes, I have checked, double-checked and reset credentials/keys several times.
Our tenant have a couple of Conditional Access rules that perhaps are prohibiting this to work?

Conditional Access should not be the case. I'd suggest generating a new app password.

Today I had WebEx help from Veeam Sweden to set it up, but we got the same errors.
We re-created the user, app - everything. But no go.

He collected the logs and will be investigating further...

I'm the one that tried to get Jimmy up and running.

AFAIK we can't open tickets with support on Betas, correct me if I'm wrong.

Seems we are able to authenticate against Office 365 using MFA but once we get to the EWS connection test we get the 401 error, question is if the connection test is redirected back on-prem since it's a Hybrid deployment?

Hi

in the System requirements please can a caveat be added for Backing up Veeam for O365 to tape. (offsite air-gapped backup?)
Due to the nature of the Repositories containing the VO365 backups on the VeeamO365 server they will not be backed up to tape on a physical Veeam O365 Server.
A virtual Server is required so that Snapshots can be taken to allow this to happen. This is because the Veeam Services are continually running and preventing access to the repositories.
On a physical server no data is copied to tape but no error is reported and no warning issued.

That's correct. Jimmy mentioned there was a Webex, and that's why I thought the case has been opened somehow.

Can you log in to O365 Admin Center with the same service account credentials? Which Conditional Access rules are set for this account?

We don't cover backup to tape in the VBO documentation, because the product doesn't provide this functionality out-of-box. VBO server or its repositories can be backed up with Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows or with Veeam Backup & Replication - like any other application in your environment.

Once and if we introduce tape support in VBO, it will be described in the documentation for sure

This issue is known and will be fixed in GA build. Thank you for reporting on it!

I'm seeing the same issue.
From what I can tell it seems that because it hits this error it stops all other backup activities.
I've had to exclude the 1 user that has over 5000 files in his onedrive.
It would be a nice idea to be able to <ContinueonError>

Any update on getting this fixed. Has the team been able to circumvent this limit imposed by Sharepoint?

Hi Martin and welcome to the community!

As the Beta version is intended for testing only, we are not planning to deliver any fixes to this build. The most simple solution would be excluding such users from a job - just as you did it.

However, as I said earlier, in the release version (which is coming soon) this issue is resolved and OneDrive backup will work as expected.
