Hi,
we bought a new storage (Nimble HF20) that we're going to place our Veeam Office 365 backups on. In https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=40 it is stated that Backup repositories with enabled volume deduplication are not supported. Does this refer to a storage device that performs deduplication for a given volume like the Nimble? Is there a specific reason why this is not supported - because from my thinking Veeam doesn't even notice that the storage device deduplicates the data?
Thanks
Michael

Re: Veeam Backup for Office 365 and Volume Deduplication
Hi Michael,
Recently there was a similar question on Cohesity, and the answer for Nimble will be pretty much the same: We didn't test Nimble HF20 specifically, but in general, running live databases (.adb in the VBO case) on deduplicating systems is risky.
Thanks!

Hi Polina,
I wasn't aware about these potential problems and will look into it.
Thanks
