Sorry if this question has been asked before.
We want Backup M365 using Veeam for 365 which is installed onprem. The backup should be in a "quasi backupCloud" e.g. Wasbi. Are there additional costs on the part of Azure when backing up outside Azure (like outgoing traffic). What would be the cost of restore about 100 GB / year?
Or would it be better to set up the Veeam for 365 in Azure and then write over the Internet directly to Wasabi.
We are talking about 15000 users with 150 TB.

Re: Veeam Backup for Office 365 outside Azure
Currently there are no egress costs for exports/backups of your M365 data; so it doesn't matter much where you place the VBO server. The only costs you need to take care of is the VBO server itself and the backup/object storage. While Wasabi only charges for the storage consumption (at least I think so), some providers will also charge for ingress, egress and API calls, in addition.
EDIT: Of course if you host your VBO server in Azure and go with an external object storage like Wasabi, you would indeed be charged for outgoing/egress traffic; and probably also for incoming/ingress traffic from restores.
