Hi,

I have several questions regarding licensing:

1. If I exclude some users from the backup job are they still consuming the license?
2. In our environment there were a lot of disabled users with licenses so does that mean if we exclude them after 31 days veeam will delete their data and licenses will be released?

No. Only protected users will consume licenses.

After 31 days without any protection, licenses will be released. But Backup Data stays for the specified retention time. We don't delete it together with the license release after 31 days.

Hi Nikola,

1) Yes, they will continue to consume licenses for 31 days after you stop backing them up.
2) After 31 days their licenses will be released, but their data will remain in the repository. Data needs to be deleted only if you want to release a license earlier than the default period.
