Veeam off-site proxy and only one used CPU core

Post by Pagrossman »

Hello,

have somebody experience with this issue?

We have VBO management server and 2 VBO proxy servers.
Proxy on VBO management server is not used.

One VBO proxy is used for backup of Exchange data and one for backup of SharePoint+Teams data.

Exchange server works as expected and backup are quick, copy jobs included...
SharePoint+Teams server doesn't work as expected. We have one CPU with 20 cores and Veeam Proxy uses only one core on this server and we are not able to enforce use all cores...
Backup jobs are slow, because they ran by the same speed as on the one core systems 20 years back...
If one thread is active in proxy process, then is has exactly 5%, if there is more threads active, then they have 5% in total...
In a few cases, there is used one more core, but it is rare situation...

One active thread:

More active threads:

CPU affinity configuration:

Is there some quick fix by adding argument in proxy file "multithreadprocessing=1" for example?
If not, then I will create a service ticket...

Hello Jan

I suggest to open a support ticket.
Maybe you face throttling from Microsoft for the SharePoint jobs. In such case, our product never will be able to leverage it's full hardware performance.

Please share the case number with me so we can follow the case.

Best,
