In our scenario we are deploying Veeam for office 365, in office 365 we have 600 users , we are going to backup all mailboxes, archives, teams, sites and onedrive accounts, the size of the all data is more or less 18 Terabytes. We deployed two servers in an azure suscription, for connect to office 365, we need to send the output traffic to azure CloudGuard firewall. With this scenario we have some questions, the first is : Is this scenario supported for Veeam?, second with traffic through a Firewall times of backups or restores will be very high?, as how can we measure that transfer speed between Veeam and Office 365.?
Thanks

Re: VEEAM OFFICE 365 DIRECT CONNECTION OR FIREWALL CONNECTION
Hello,
from Veeam side, firewalls between backup infrastructure and Microsoft 365 are supported, yes. Otherwise almost no customer could use the software Azure CloudGuard sounds like Checkpoint firewall? That's a big brand, and I have not heard issues.
The firewall should have no real impact. Usually Microsoft throttling is the limiting factor (especially for backup)
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: VEEAM OFFICE 365 DIRECT CONNECTION OR FIREWALL CONNECTION
Thanks Hannes for you reply. Yes The firewall is Checkpoint in Azure Suscription. We have an additional concern and that is if the firewall is going to be able to support the transfer of data, especially in the first backups since the information can be around 18 terabytes.

Re: VEEAM OFFICE 365 DIRECT CONNECTION OR FIREWALL CONNECTION
when having concerns with a product, I would ask the product vendor (Checkpoint in this case). 18TB is not really much in 2022, but I'm not a Checkpoint expert
