Why does Restore Portal show sharepoint for end-users

Post by JoshWood »

Hi Veeam Team,
Given that explore and restore of Sharepoint items is only a function of Restore Operators, why do end users see Sharepoint in their list of applications? All it does is leave the end user confused as to why they see no content when they expand the tree.
Irrespective if the user is the owner of a site or content, this data does not show in a standard user Sharepoint page tree. Only restore operators can change scope to the specific site to explore the content. Is there some other way that standard users can see their own Sharepoint data or should the Sharepoint application maybe be removed from the portal to avoid confusion? Similar to how Teams does not show but only restore operators can change scope to the team.
Thanks for reading.

Hi Josh,

The site that is showing with an end-user is a personal site. Not a SharePoint site, or not a site that he owns or is an admin on it. It is only the personal site. By the way, if you are not using personal sites in SharePoint, I would advise to disable the backup of those sites as they take space in your backups
