Permissions for backup are listed in this table - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... for-backup
All permissions in this table are read-only except this TeamSettings.ReadWrite.All
Why is a readwrite permission required for backup?
I checked on Azure Microsoft Graph and can see a permission TeamSettings.Read.All. Shouldn't this be listed in this table for Application type.
And TeamSettings.ReadWrite.All permission in the restore table which is delegated type? Permissions for restore are here - which are delegated https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... or-restore
For security concerns, our client was to only provide read-only permissions for backup.
They do not want to provide permissions listed in this table - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... ertificate
Which are for restore portal or certificate restore.
Opened a case# 08125679 too for this query.

Re: Why is ReadWrite permission required for backup
Hi Sumeet,
To protect an archived team, VB365 must temporarily unarchive it. After completing the backup, the team is returned to its initial archived state. These manipulations require write permissions.
