will old self-service restore still work in v6?

currently we are running VBO v5 together with Cloud Connect on the same VM to offer our customers a self-service restore capability through VBO Explorers -> VCC -> VBO Backups
When updating VBO to v6, will the scenario above still be working or are we forced to implement the new restore portal solution?

Yes, it will continue to work.
Your customer must install the new explorers as documented in our helpcenter, after you have upgraded to VB365 V6.0.

If you are a service provider, do you want to continue in the future offering this model or will you look into the portal?

We are a service provider and starting to evaluate vbo v6. The new solution comes in handy, as it would allow us to move the vbo services from the cloud connect machine to a dedicated one.
We also need to consider multitenancy and want to have the restore portal also on a seperate server providing a bit more internal security.
I already found topics for those cases, so hopefully it will work as we are thinking

so the Restore Portal itself is working without issues but the Limitations addressed the following are somewhat breaking:

especially:
- Microsoft Teams data is not supported for explore and restore using Restore Portal
- Restore Portal allows you to restore data from the latest restore point that available in a backup repository.

Will those things addressed and improved in the near future? Otherwise i think we need to stick to the old solution.

Yes, both of them will be addressed and I am targeting it for this year (but as always, I only will let it go when it is ready )
