Hello team!
I am surprised that, being that Veeam recommends using Staging Server for Azure SQL backup consistency, there is no "best practices" information for configuring Staging Server.
To backup a SQL Server, is it advisable to use the same server as staging server?
To backup a SQL Server instance of a managed server, is it recommended to use the SQL Server containing the instance as the staging server?
To backup a standalone SQL Server instance, is it advisable to use any SQL Server as a staging server, or is it better to create another one just for backup?
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Best regards.

Re: Azure SQL - Staging Server - Best practices
Hello,
The purpose of the staging server is to offload all activity from production, so any spare or not used server should be a way to go. Feel free to use any server that can manage the additional load for both scenarios.
Thank you!

OK, thanks Vitaliy, I understand, we are going to create a dedicated SQL Server for backup tasks.
