Cannot connect on-prem to Azure

Post by sandequ »

I have an on-prem instance running as well as multiple instances in Azure. When I do 'Add Server' and select Azure, I can see and select the server in Azure that I want to add however, when I choose direct connection and enter the ip, it does not connect with the error "Failed to validate connection. Aconnection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because the connected host has failed to respond." I have verified that all ports are open and when I connect to the destination server in Azure, I don't see it listening on the ports it should be listening on. I've checked the services and they are all running. Is there something on the destination server that I need to do to enable it to be added from the on-prem source server?

Hello Quincy,
That is strange and unexpected. My recommendation would be to open a quick support ticket so our Engineers can debug the logs and see what is going on.

As you mentioned, there are not many ports to achieve this integration - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbazu ... tml?ver=40
There are however a few privileges that the account should have, but the error is not mentioning privilege error - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbazu ... tml?ver=40

As said, would recommend to please open a support ticket and let us know the case number if you like.

thanks

Just to make sure we are on the same page > are you able to open the appliance web UI/connect to the appliance from the backup server machine?
