I've been enabling health check on our VBAZ jobs. We do use an encryption key on the repos. It's just the simple Veeam key you enter when making the repo, not a key vault or anything. I recently happened across this:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbazu ... tml?ver=5a
NOTE
Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure does not support metadata check for encrypted backup chains.
So does that mean if you encrypt your backups in the repo that the health check does nothing at all?

Re: Health Check & Encryption
Hi!
Following the User Guide, the health check verifies a backup chain for any potential corrupted metadata and data blocks.
In the case of an encrypted chain, only data blocks are checked.
