How to configure Veeam to backup files on Azure

Hello,

I'm trying to configure Veeam to backup files on our Azure account, and I'm stuck at a step where I should choose a folder from a container :



The container is detected but I can't browse into it and choose a folder. And the backup repository is configured (I would not see the container otherwise). Someone knows why I can't choose the folder?

Hi,

The option “add external repository” is used for adding existing repositories from Veeam Backup for Azure and will not allow you to backup these containers.

Veeam Backup for Azure allows you to backup Azure Files though. But I think what you are looking for is backup for Azure Blob storage? This is currently not supported within Veeam products but is on our roadmap.

What I'm tyring to do is to archive (many) SMB/NAS shares on Azure. It could be on Azure Blob, Azure container or any other Azure product (if you see another option).

And at the end, I'm trying to replicate :

Currently, it is possible to create native-snapshots (not backups) for Azure Files only.

That's correct, if you're referring to a backup process of folders in Azure. We can create snapshots and do FLR for Azure Files with a native data protection solution. Hope it helps!
