License Sizing

Post by handian.sudianto »

Hello,
Am I right the VBR for hyper-v or vmware can't backup Azure VM?
If i have 18 onprem vmware guest and 22 Azure VM, should i buy veeam license for 40 workload then i apply license on VBR onprem and on Azure VBR? Or should i buy separate license (20 for onprem and 25 for azure)?

Hello Handian

A VUL license for 40 workloads. The license will be installed in your VBR server.
Deploy the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure backup appliance from your VBR server.
You will manage the appliance and jobs from the VBR backup console. The license for Azure workloads will also be assigned from your VBR server.

Appliance deployment: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbazu ... tml?ver=60
Backup Job creation: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbazu ... tml?ver=60

Please contact your sales representative from Veeam or a regional reseller to discuss licenses and pricing.

Best,

Yes, you need to deploy an appliance via Veeam B&R to Microsoft Azure to be able to back up cloud-native workloads. Thanks!
