Utilization license VBR using to VBA 11a

Post by Kim29 »

if I had VBR 1 instance license and 3 workloads onprem and I plan to deploy VBA.
Can I using VBR license apply to VBA with plug-in?
Does need to buy the need license for separate VBR and VBA?

If you deploy VBA using VBR, it will allow you to consume your VUL licenses. VBA does offer you 10 instances for free before a license is needed.

Don't need separate license right if I using more then 10 instance?
Can I manage license VBA and VBR via EM?

Hi Kim

In that case you need a VUL License with enough licensed workloads on your vbr server to backup all your onpremise machines and cloud machines. Best to talk to your veeam sales representative.

If your VBA is connected to the VBR, the license of the VBA will be managed over VBR which is connected and managed from an EM. You will see the used VBA licenses as Cloud Machines in the EM gui.

The screenshot on this guide shows you how it looks:

Correct, VUL can be used anywhere so the complexity of a license per product doesn’t exist.
