We try to ensure our clients have resiliency built into their Azure environments using Availability Zones and Replication between zones as required. We have Veeam Backup For Azure backing up to a ZRS storage account however what is the best method for ensuring the Veeam Backup For Azure appliance itself is protected so that in the event the availability zone the Veeam Azure Backup appliance was unavailable we could still access backups with the appliance and restore.
Should we be using Azure Backup to backup the Veeam Appliance or is there a better method?

Re: Veeam Backup for Azure Appliance Recovery
VB for Azure has auto backup built-in under the settings menu which leverages native azure snapshots.
The upcoming release will extend this and also add a feature called “configuration backup&restore” which allows you to store a backup in a repository. In case of an issue, you can then recover from that backup.

And the preferred method would be to use the new Configuration Backup feature of the upcoming release. Thanks!

Re: Veeam Backup for Azure Appliance Recovery
Thanks both. The configuration backup sounds like the ideal solution. Was surprised it wasn't already there.
