backup to cloud repo

Veeam Logoby lowlander » Thu Mar 15, 2018 6:54 am

Hi,

We use a VBO365 physiscal server to backup Office 365. Data is located on a local repo on this server. We installed the latest Veeam agent for Windows and do a backup of just the repository content to another physiscal server with enough DAS storage. From there we do a copy out to a cloud provider repository, based on a copy job.

In case of a site failure, is it a valid scenario to build a new physical server create a new install of VBO 365 and restore the Repo from the cloud provider repository to this server.

it would be nice if we can create a sort of a copy job within the VBO365 interface, or the B&R console.

any suggestions ?

thanks !

It is, but not truly out of the box so some additional work on your side will need to be done.

See here: https://www.veeam.com/kb2228

What I would need to do in the future is adapt this KB (actually create a new one) that is only for proxies (so without the information around the config DB etc...). But I'm afraid it will take me some time. :-(

Good article

For now we used an all in one vm, that replicated to our cloudconnect provider.

Thanks !

That seems (for now) still the best solution. Are you backing it up with VAW or B&R?

Perfect. That is also a very good practice for 3-2-1 rule AND you will be able to do ILR from the B&R console also. B&R detects that it is a VBO machine :-)
