Exclude particular object types from backup

Post by pinkerton »

Hi all,

over the weekend we ran our first backup jobs that included all of our 600 users mails, onedrive accounts and sharepoint sites. We split the backup jobs into three: One for mail, one for onedrive and one for sites. We only had some issues with access problems in onedrive for two users that however have been resolved in an incremental run after the backup. In general everything is looking very good and therefore we are going to purchase the product this week.

Does anyone know if it is possible to further separate backup jobs in sub-types of objects? That is: One job for mail that i.e. only includes personal but not shared mailboxes? Or in sharepoint exclude all personal sites? It does not seem to be possible to do this automatically. And excluding all objects manually is no option. It might be good to have the possibility to select only particular sub-objects for a backup job.

Especially we would like to exclude all personal sites from the sharepoint backup job.

Thanks
Michael

For sharepoint you can exclude all personal sites from the job under the exclude tab. Just select sites under the add button and select “personal sites”.

Thank you very much, I didn't notice that.
