Hi Guys

Is there a way to extend an existing Repository to Object Storage?

Thanks

Hi Saxie,

No. That is not possible. What you can do is convert the data of the existing repository to a new created object storage repository. But you need to use PowerShell for this one-time conversion.

Thanks, is there an article on the process? Or is it in the manual somewhere?

Werner,

We are now working on a KB article describing the process step-by-step. It should be published very soon (I hope to have it by EOW) and I'll post the link in this thread.

Until then, please check out the documentation (Example 4).

Thanks!

The way of doing is as follows:
1) Add the object storage provider
2) Create a repository which will offload data to the object storage
3) Once created leverage PowerShell to move the data (for an example see: veeam-backup-for-microsoft-office-365-f ... 58852.html)

So, if I Want to move all organitations data(one at time) , to an objet storage repository , referring to this guide veeam-backup-for-microsoft-office-365-f ... 58852.html , I have to follow example 3(with -RunAsync Parameter added) ? That is correct?
Thanks Everyone,
Luca

Hi Luca,

Since by default the Move-VBOEntityData session is a single-thread operation (consuming one thread from a corresponding proxy), using it with the -RunAsync parameter will allow running multiple migration jobs simultaneously. For example, on a proxy with 64 threads (and if there're no backup jobs running), you can start 64 migration tasks in parallel. This will help to speed up transferring larger amounts of data.

Hope it helps )
