Concerning off-site copies of O365 backup

Post by MACM »

I have read this thread and this thread. If I understand them correctly, since I have VBR and VBO installed on the same physical server I am NOT able to use VBR to back up the VBO repositories to RDX removable media. Am I overlooking something? I receive "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" error no matter how I try to accomplish a copy to RDX. Do I need to move my installation of VBO to a virtual machine in order to accomplish a copy of the VBO repository to RDX media for off-site storage or am I overlooking something simple? (which I am prone to do)

You'll need to use the Veeam Agent for Windows to backup the server first, then use VBR to copy those backups to RDX media. Or you can do as you suggest and move VBO to a VM, backup the VM using VBR, and then copy the backup to RDX.

Thank you Joe! I will try that as I really do not want to start all over with a new installation, etc.

Will report back my experience. Thank you again for taking time to reply.
