Quicker searching? Indexing?

Post by storres.rampup »

I've got about 2tb in a repo right now spread across 200 users. I'm running a search of all email and it's 5% done and estimating another 12 hours left. Processor using about 20% and average disk queue around 0.5.

Does that sound about right to you? Any tweaks besides throwing some more hardware at it? I'm on a 3ghz xeon and 7200rpm raid 10 currently.

Hi Steven,

First: Welcome to the forums!

For your question: Somewhere it doesn't seem right to me. But to be sure, how long is it been running to get the 5% done?

Thank you for the assistance, my versions are listed below as well if that's any help.

Veeam Backup 365 version 4.0.0.1553
Exchange Explorer version 9.5.4.2753

Takes about 30 minutes to get 5% done.

Hey Steven,

Can you look at this page: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100

Disable Show PST size estimation in status bar and see how much difference it makes.
