Post by andre.simard »

Hi,
After renaming my server, i need to update the callback URL on the VBSF server.
How can i do that? I have already update it on Saleforce side.

Thank you

@andre.simard If you change the domain name on the VBSF server and you can log in with a new name, then simply edit the connected app settings in Salesforce. Specify the new domain name in a callback url field (just add to the list) and that is it. Nothing else to adjust, really. It might be a good idea to re-authorize the connection to the Salesforce instances with a new domain after that change. For that, you can go to Configuration > Salesforce and edit the connection. Click the Authorize link and complete the login under your service user.

Hi,

After having tried to re-authorize the organisation and refresh the token multiple time from multiple different way of changing Callback URL I was not able to make it work back again.

Finally, since it was not in prod yet I just decided to restart from scratch on a new server.

Everything is fine now thank you for your help.

I hear you. Glad that you have this resolved finally.
The most difficult step in the change process really is to wait for 10 minutes until the Salesforce Connected App is refreshed.

We're setting Veeam Backup for Salesforce as POC. When setting up the Veeam connected app in Salesforce, does the callback URL have to be publicly accessible or the internal/private IP/FQDN of the Veeam Backup server for Salesforce?

@Gujumax it can be any URL, even https://localhost.

This is the URL that will come as a parameter in request, Salesforce will validate that URL matches the setting and will redirect the browser to this URL with the code. As long as the browser can open this URL, everything will work.
