Salesforce backup for last night stuck in starting

Post by sumeet »

Hello,

Not sure if others observed this, but last nights salesforce backup for our different clients on different servers in different network segments - strangely all were stuck in starting.
Stopping the job and restarting did not help. The only way to get the backups running was to stop vbsf services and postgres db and reboot the server (maybe the reboot wasn't required)

I have opened the case with logs from one env# 07580691

Hello Sumeet, we have not received anything similar from other customers so far. I will let you work with support team to find out details but dev team will look into avoiding such case. Appreciate your inputs!

Hello MIvanov,

Not sure I understand your reply, the part -- "but dev team will look into avoiding such case"

Current status -- still waiting for the support team to provide more details.

Thanks,
-Sumeet.

I'm following just to see if a conclusion is ever drawn as to what caused this. I came in this morning to find the same issue. Our jobs usually kick off at 5 PM every day and complete in just a couple minutes, but I checked on the job when I noticed that I did not receive an email notification. After rebooting our linux server I was able to run the job through successfully.

We did just install the 3.1.0.2378 update 3 days ago, but I'm hoping this is just a one-off occurrence.
