Hi everyone,
My company just deployed new Veeam solution, and I would like to add 10g NIC for VBR, my question is if I deploy Veeam proxy to another machine (proxy not stay with VBR at same machine), do I need 10g NIC for both VBR or just needed for the proxy machine ?
Also, if I have a DR site and perform replication from prod site, let's say I set the retention for 7 days, after 7 days how is the first(oldest) recovery point going ? I read the Veeam documents and the replication chain just like VM snapshot, so the oldest recovery point snapshot will be deleted and committed to parent base image ?
Sorry about those questions it sound like basic concept.

Re: 10 Gbps NIC and replication question
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
The proxy can run at any machine. The proxy does all the heavy work and only that machine needs good network connection if you separate the proxy role from the backup server role.
Yes, your understanding is correct. For new-comers I recommend the quick start guide and the FAQ
