10G Windows performance ...
Hi,
One of my customers have this configuration :
- OS : Windows 2008 R2 SP1, HP Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 560SFP+ Adapter --> Veeam physical Proxy
- Switch : Cisco Nexus 5672 7.0.5
- Datadomain : DD880 DDOS 5.4.4.2-453843
The backup performance does not going up to 140 MB/s. I try to simply copy some bigs files from this server to an other share on the network and it's the same. This mean the network performance is not a VEEAM issue.
Is there any tricks to increase the Windows copy performance ?
Thanks.
Zed.

Re: 10G Windows performance ...
Loaded question, not much detail here on the configuration. Plus, as you mentioned, it's not just a Veeam issue so not sure this is the right place to ask.
I would review the port configuration, or maybe even engage EMC support since they should have expertise on optimizing configurations with the DataDomain.

ok, but maybe someone has had this problem even if it is not a VEEAM problem, it can affect VEEAM backup performance.
I tested copies from the Windows proxy to another copy of Windows and the rate is not good. So I do not think DataDomain EMD is involved.

In addition to drivers I’d check the routing/firewall limitations. Can you confirm the same throughput on other machines in the same LAN?

The DataDomain is connected to the switch 10G and the proxy as well. I tried to copy from DataDomain to the proxy and another Windows machine connected to the same switch. same problem.
