I have a VM with a 15TB volume, which has never been backed up
How large would the snapshot be during initial Veeam backup? The files wouldn't be changing at all during the backup

Re: 15TB VM initial Veeam backup
It is impossible to predict or guarantee(as for example simple AV scan or Windows Update can change a lot of disk blocks). So it is best to follow general VMware recommendations and keep at least 10% datastore capacity free for snapshot operations. Veeam backup job will also warn you in case you go below default threshold.

Re: 15TB VM initial Veeam backup
Thanks, seems to be going good so far with 20% free on the datastore just in case, doesn't matter if it fails as just a test for now (But I'll be very happy when this project is done and the data is sat on a VMDK rather than a single HP SAN unit!)
