3PAR/HP StoreServ Integration Question

Post by Khue »

Our HP 3PAR/StoreServ system has been logging an interesting error lately. We've been getting messages claiming that there is an excess of cli based processes running. HP advised us to turn off the StoreServ's web service based API. They claimed that this could be done without impacting backups, but of course it did as Veeam is using the webservice API to instantiate SAN assisted backups. I was just curious if anyone else using 3PAR/StoreServ technology was seeing the same error occasionally. The full error message would look something like:
Short Dsc: Max allowable local CLI processes of 24 exceeded, no process cr Event String: Max allowable local CLI processes of 24 exceeded, no process created for connection from client address 127.0.0.1
Anyone else seeing this particular error using Veeam and 3PAR/StoreServ?

Hi,
Have not seen this error before but googling gives me this solution.

That just removes the individual sessions on a one time use type of scenario. I've been using:
removewsapisession
To get rid of extra api sessions where necessary.

The first step is to identify whether the observed behavior is caused by Veeam B&R.
