AAIP and Windows
Hello,
I would like to know better when enable AAIP is really needed for application consistent because I can read lot's of differents setup...
What I know is it's mandatory for application like Exchange, AD, SQL, ...
Is it needed for "standard" Windows VM or not ? There is nothing I can find on Veeam documentation about this.
If yes, this means I need to create a GPO to deploy and account with local administrator privileges on all Windows VM (I totally refuse to use domain admin privileges for obvious security reason) .
If not, that mean I can just add the account on the needed VMs

Re: AAIP and Windows
If the VM does not have an application running there is no need for AAIP. As the link above show applications like SQL Server, Oracle etc.

Hello,
Yes, it is good because there are system VSS writers like WMI, Registry, System, etc. You can run VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS to get the full list of writers existing in the OS. Also, you can find more theoretical information about VSS workflow on this page.
Thanks!
