Post by Profex »

We use TSM Tivoli for Fullbackup our DomainControllers. TSM Tivoli set an Flag that the AD Structure is in fully backup state. How does Veeam 7 Backup the AD Structure ? is it possible to Restore an Single Object or the Full Domain if the backup with Veeam from the Domain Controller is over 3 Months old?

thx for Help

Veeam uses Application Aware Image Processing to backup Windows applications by leveraging VSS. With the current U-AIR wizard you can restore single objects/attributes within AD.

If you make a backup now with Veeam and you need to restore it within 3 months it's possible as well. All you have do to is re-use the excisting backup file within a Virtual Lab and you can use the U-AIR wizard to perform a restore.

Keep in mind that in Version 8 we will add a Veeam Explorer for Active Directory: http://www.veeam.com/blog/you-must-try- ... ctory.html

Here's an instruction on using AD AIR wizard for reference and another existing thread for details on domain controller backup and restore: Veeam B&R v5 recovery of a domain controller (nevermind the version in title).
