Add disk to Replica

Post by lobo519 »

I have an existing replication job, The VM has 2 disks - I originally only replicated the fist disk. I later added the second disk to the replica job. In the first job with the second disk there was a " Calculating digests Hard disk 2 (170.0 GB)" in the log but it replicated in 9 minutes..way too fast for a WAN connection. There were no errors but I suspect that the full disk is not on the replica.

Is it supported to add a disk to a replica later?

Obviously something doesn't seem right and it concerning that the job is reporting as successful.

This is a known issue with v6 that after removing the disk from exclusions the job indicates that it is processed successfully but there is actually no disk on the replica VM. Will be addressed in v6.1.

Yes, you can re-create the job and map it to the existing replica VM to avoid full backup of the first (already replicated) disk.
6.1 is due out in a couple of months.
