Admin rights required to connect via Powershell

Hi, we're writing a script to query the Veeam jobs for various results (such as restore points for each VM) for our Wiki. We've found that the Veeam role: Veeam Backup Administrator is the only one which will allow connection to the management server via the Veeam snapin > connect-vbrserver

You can run connect-viserver through PowerCLI with read-only rights, so was wondering why you need the maximum rights to query the Veeam server.
