After updating to V10 P2 no access to EMC DDVE

Post by BennyDC »

Hi,

Upgraded to Veeam B&R V10 P2 since then no access anymore to repositories on DDVE
02/07/2020 09:08:41 :: Unable to access target repository Error: Failed to call RPC function 'DDBoostSetCreds': Singleton manager is not initialized.
When trying to access the repositories directly in Veeam i do get Singleton manager is not initialized.
It is using the same dd boost account as my local EMC DD. Who are working still fine. On the DDVE the password isn't locked or expired.
Did logged a support case 04261014
Where they did advise me to restart the Veeam Installer service. What i tried before i even did reboot the server but no influence there.
Did anyone expirience the same thing and does anyone know what the Singleton manager is?

Thanks,
Benny

Hi Benny,

Please keep working with our engineers directly for determining the root cause and eliminating it. We'll keep an eye on the case.

Thanks

In software engineering, the singleton pattern is a software design pattern that restricts the instantiation of a class to one "single" instance. This is useful when exactly one object is needed to coordinate actions across the system. The term comes from the mathematical concept of a singleton.

Hi Benny, what was Veeam B&R version before the upgrade to v10 P2? Was it v10 as well or some earlier version (v9.5?) Also, please confirm that your physical DD repository still works fine with v10P2 after the upgrade. What DDOS versions are both physical array and DDVE running? Thanks!

Hi Foggy before it was v9.5 4b.
The Physical repositories are still working fine.
DDVE is running on 6.2.0.10-515548 I have another veeam Backup server from another region running to this DDVE after the upgrade to V10 P2 it's still working fine.
The Physical DD is running on 6.2.0.35-635767.
Thanks

So this is something more complex than a simple version compatibility issue. Please continue working with support, most likely they will need to involve Dell EMC.
