Always have to re-add Veeam service pass on server reboot

Post by shabbaranker »

Hi guys,

I was hoping someone would be able to shed some light on an issue I keep getting. Every time I restart my 2012 Veeam backup server I have to re-add the Veaam agent password to the Veeam service account in order for the services to start. I have checked and double checked the password is in Veeam - Manage Credentials - and applied the password there. But no sooner I restart the server the services don't start until I put the password back into the Veeam backup service "service" within the server.

Is this a Veeam issue or Windows Server issue?

Thanks

Hi,

Seems like this is a windows issue as the product doesn't have a capability of modifying these credentials once the product setup puts them in.
You can try to find out the cause of the issue by reviewing the event logs or contact the support team and let them take a closer look. Thanks!

Bingo thanks for some reason I thought it was Veeam resetting the service. All sorted :)
