"ambiguous output redirect" when adding an NFS repository
Anyone have any idea what would be causing this?
When we add a new backup repo in BnR, we are doing linux server since it's NFS, then when we click browse on the repository step we get the following error:
Error: Ambiguous output redirect.
, answer:
And we can only hit OK. But cannot move forward for adding the datastore.
Any ideas at all? Google is failing me.

What kind of Linux is this? Do you use root credentials to add to the backup server?

Re: "ambiguous output redirect" when adding an NFS repositor
its actually a FreeNas server, so FreeBSD. Which of I realized is not supported.
I can't use iSCSI because we seem to have issues with NTFS errors corrupting the backups whenever we do, on whatever storage we use (we have CentOS and FreeBSD and Ubuntu).
I am right now trying to build a linux proxy for the NFS store (which I has been suggested in other threads), but just discovered you cannot export an "imported" NFS folder...
So how do people do that?

nevermind... I quite caffein last week. I'm thinking that was a horrible idea....
It helps if you install perl on the server...
Nothing to see here move along.
Thanks Vitally.

Yes, you can install any supported Linux server and then mount your FreeNas to this box, however is there any particular reason you've decided to go this way? It looks like FreeNAS can also be exposed as a CIFS share and then be used as a repository for your backups > Adding FreeBSD server as Backup Repository

Only reason is speed. CIFS is horrifically slow in my experience.

Got it! Then any new Linux server should be a solution here.

Thanks for confirming.
None of this would be an issue if Microsoft hadn't changed NFS tools to install both server and client now. No way I can find to install JUST the client.
